At Ysgol Cambrian, we understand that attendance can look different for children and young people with additional learning needs. Our aim is to work in partnership with families to ensure that every pupil can attend, engage and thrive in a way that is safe, realistic and supportive of their individual needs.
We take a flexible, compassionate approach to attendance, recognising that health, anxiety, sensory needs, transport, family circumstances and wider wellbeing can all affect a child’s ability to attend school. Our priority is always to understand the barriers and work together to remove them.
We believe that good attendance is built on strong relationships. When concerns arise, we do not take a punitive approach. Instead, we work closely with families to explore what is happening and what support may help.
