Health, Nursing and Multi‑Agency Support

At Ysgol Cambrian, pupil health and wellbeing are central to our provision. We work closely with families and a wide range of professionals to ensure every child receives the right support in a calm, coordinated and child‑centred way. By offering many services on site, we reduce stress for families, minimise time away from learning and create a familiar, reassuring environment for pupils.

School Nurse

We are proud to have a full‑time nurse on site who oversees all aspects of pupil health and medical care.
Our school nurse:

  • works with parents and carers to create individual Health Care Plans
  • manages medication and medical procedures
  • supports day‑to‑day health needs across the school
  • coordinates on‑site clinics with visiting health professionals
  • provides staff training and guidance
  • is available to discuss any medical concerns families may have

Parents and carers are encouraged to contact the school if they need advice or support.

Multi‑Agency Support

We are supported by a wide range of health and wellbeing professionals, including:

  • Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)
  • Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Physiotherapy
  • Paediatrics
  • CAMHS

These teams work collaboratively with us to ensure pupils can access the right support in a calm, familiar environment. Wherever possible, appointments, assessments and reviews take place on site, helping families avoid unnecessary travel, reducing stress and ensuring pupils miss as little learning time as possible.

Specialist Health and Therapy Spaces

To support high‑quality care, we have a number of specialist rooms within the school designed specifically for therapeutic, medical and wellbeing use. These spaces allow professionals to carry out clinics, consultations and interventions in a quiet, private and child‑friendly setting. This ensures pupils receive consistent, coordinated care that truly meets their needs while keeping school at the centre of their daily routine.y
